Probably the best food experience on our Scotland trip. We had: - 1x Mussels Starter (shared between two adults) - 1x Scallops Main - 1x Langoustines Main - Tagliatelle with tomato sauce (Kid 1) - Fish Gaujons (Kid 2) Not many word needed here. The seafood was absolutely fresh and super delicious. We talked to the owners and the seafood is daily provided by a local fisherman and we think that was noticeable. Everything was cooked to perfection and especially the Langoustines were top class! Our kids liked the fish and the noodles as well! The beer selection is also very good. I had an Beaverton Neckoil IPA from tap and really liked it. Service was perfect and very friendly. Please go there!

While holidaying in Ayr for my husband's 70th birthday, we were hoping to find somewhere truly special for a celebratory meal—and we absolutely did. The Anchorage, beautifully situated overlooking the harbour at Dunure, was the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine—so much so, it felt as though we were regulars. The service throughout was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. As for the food—simply outstanding. We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, with each dish perfectly prepared and presented. My personal favourite was the scallops, which were cooked to perfection. We’re returning to Ayr in June and will definitely be visiting The Anchorage again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in a stunning location.

What a lovely rustic dining room. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. Situated right next to the quaint harbour, this is a high quality establishment with a great varied menu and cosy atmosphere. Prices vary from reasonable to high depending on your choice. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience. Historic Dunure castle is only a few minutes walk away.🤗

We visited and had a lovely early dinner. We shared a seafood risotto special and smorgasbord seafood platter, the food was fresh and delicious. The staff were lovely, especially our server Lauren, she was so attentive and welcoming. Very nice restaurant and location right by the harbour and beach. Will definitely be back to try more

Lovely cosy pub / restaurant with a seafarer theme. Dog friendly, they even have a menu for your doggo. We had Crab Cakes, Tempura Prawns and Mussel Mariniere. It was stunning.

It was the best food we had in a long time, service was spot on couldn't fault it at all. Food was cooked to perfection, tasted fantastic, good presentation and portions was bigger then expected (except the pudding could have been bigger haha) and the views around this place are beautiful. Couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend this place

Outstanding, best food in a long time. Fish supper was huge and very tasty, scallops were amazing. Puddings were delicious. Service excellent. Highly recommend, will definitely be back.
